Rift is the first in an ongoing series of sculptures entitled Rift.These pieces are inspired by my love of science fiction novels. The Golden Compass Trilogy by Philip Pullman was one of my favorites. The Rift suggests a portal into another dimension. An alternative universe. Usually hidden from plain view, thus the branch like growth within the center of the piece.
