Passing Into the Alternative in my return to a series entitled "Rift" These pieces were inspire by my reading of science fiction/ fantasy novels, such as The Golden Compass by Philip Pullman. A beautiful circular opening represents the entering of the portal which is unblocked. A journey into an alternative reality. The brushed steel gives it that futuristic edge while the patterning formed by welds also give it the feel of antiquity.
